I, too, like the mayor's approach. I'll second the cheers !!
The initiative of individual communities will push the best alternatives to the
top. I would like to the see the
mpls-issues list expanded to include web pages where spreadsheets and data can be
displayed regarding each separate site
(maybe this already exists and we just need the links made available.)
One of the several problems with the former Jennings plan was that it was a lump
sum, all or nothing deal. We're
quite capable of greater discretion and differentiation.
I would also like to hold off on the declaration that we have too much building
space. Maybe that's true, and maybe
we just haven't found all the possible uses for the space that we already have. I
think that the classrooms could be put
to good use if we just open up our thinking a little more. Everyone in the city has
not yet learned everything they will
ever need to know.
