No kidding. What really kills me over here by Lake Harriet is that the folks with the
million dollar homes either can't seem to afford a snow shoveling service or won't do
their own. Both 42nd and the parkway between 42nd and 43rd are an ice skating rink in
places. The two most traveled blocks for older folks walking down to the lake. Try
e-mailing the council member. They can send a letter from their office or get to
inspections quicker.

Subject: [Mpls] Ice, sidewalks and unfriendly neighbors

Walking the dog last night, I just about killed myself
on a neighbor's unshoveled sidewalk. Unshoveled--and
how! It's a corner lot and I don't think they'd
touched it all winter. The ice was easily 3 inches
thick. Anyway, I went to the city's website snow-
information page, where one can get a number to report
such unfriendly neighbors and (hopefully) get the
problem fixed. Upon dialing the number, a voicemail
message told me the mailbox was full; on pressing the
directed # sign, another voice suggested I try again
some other time.

So I'm thinking, ok, should I call back, say, in July?

Anyway, I know the city's budget is short, I'm a
librarian for God's sake. And I know I could just
contact this neighbor directly. But if the city has a
process in place to take care of such a situation,
shouldn't a citizen and taxpayer be able to use it?
