What would happen if a bus strike went on for a
long time and the only people being hurt were bus
riders and transit workers?
If it looked liked the transit hating union busters
were winning, many people would find that an
unnaceptable result. They might do foolish, disruptive
things.
The political climate is much more polarized that
it was during the 95 bus strike.
In the event of a transit strike both sides would
be losers. The pro-union side may be in a weaker
position, but pro-union people could deny the other
side a victory.
I hope Pawlenty is sensible enough to order the
Metro Council to accept binding arbitration.
No, I'm not a syndicalist. (a radical movement of
the early 1900's)
