The Republicans who control state government wanted
a transit stike and now they have it.

Here is a Doug Grow column about the bus strike:

http://www.startribune.com/stories/465/4641292.html

There will be no winners in this strike. Do the the
far-right Republicans really think they can keep
traffic moving if enough people refuse to cooperate
with their plans?

They are hundreds of thousands of people who will
find an enemy victory unacceptable. An enemy victory
would be a huge threat to the rest of Labor, to the
inner cities, to progressives, liberals and Democrats.

The far right will not be allowed to win this
strike. It is going to be long and messy.

The political climate is very polarized. Why do
they think they can wage war against unions, the
working poor, environmentalists and the center cities
and get away with it?

Will the Minneapolis police protect scabs? Surely
they wouldn't arrest anybody without community
meetings and a city-wide consensus! City government is
controlled by pople who are further left than I am.

This strike could have been prevented. This is the
strike THEY wanted.
