The Mayor and City Council are currently following a five year plan which should eliminate the Minneapolis Department of Health and Family Support by 2006.
A Blue Ribbon panel of regional health experts was assembled to study a merger of the Minneapolis Department of Health and Family Support with the Hennepin County Community Health Department. The Panel has recommended that Minneapolis retain the Department of Health and Family Support. It is believed that this recommendation will be ignored by elected officials I urge all to read the report (link below) and make your informed opinion known to the Mayor and your Councilperson. http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/dhfs/docs/Blue_Ribbon_Panel_Executive_Summar y.pdf http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/dhfs/ Matt Schwei Ward 1 representative, Minneapolis Public Health Advisory Committee Audubon REMINDERS: 1.
