Dan,

You asked who the 2 council members were that did not sign were - I have
just been informed that there are now 6 signatures. The only remaining
council member to sign is President Dan Bostrom who is out of town. The
vote on the resolution has been held over until April 7th.

I applaud the City Council and the Mayor for taking a stand on this
issue. While I admit that the Mayor has pissed me off over the last few
years, I have to give him points for working with the GLBT community on
this.

I find it somewhat odd that our sister city (Minneapolis) has yet to act
on this. They have 3 openly gay city council members and a Mayor that is
very well liked by the GLBT community, yet they say nothing. This is the
same city where the "A-gays" (those trendy metro sexual types) see and
get seen, which basically makes Minneapolis the "gay capitol" of the 5
state region. Where are they on this issue? Nowhere. Once again, Saint
Paul has to lead the state in civil rights. Now what does that say about
the City of Saint Paul? I wear this statement of tolerance and diversity
as a badge of honor and something that all of us should be proud of.
