As I indicated to Eva off-list, my office has drafted a resolution that will come before the IGR committee on Tuesday.

Thank you Council Member Benson. It seems like the City of St Paul has shamed the City of Minneapolis into acting.
I hope the wording of the resolution includes opposition to Democratic Senator Betzold's alternative - which would ban gay couples access to the courts.
According to the Star Tribune:
But the bill has to get out of committee first. Bachmann's bill is scheduled for a hearing Friday in the Senate Judiciary Committee. The chairman, Sen. Don Betzold, DFL-Fridley, is expected to introduce his own proposal that would limit the power of defining marriage and equivalent civil unions to the Legislature, removing the courts from jurisdiction.
