Why wouldnt Chief Forte be allowed to remain as fire chief and be switched to the new plan? My sources tell me that when he takes his new job that he will enter the citys newer pension plan vested. Why is that?

I think the Strib was pretty clear. Pensions are governed by pretty strict eligibility standards. If you were hired before a certain date, you're in one plan. After that, another.

Forte wasn't in the most lucrative plan. That's why he felt he HAD to move, either elsewhere in the city or to another plan. No conspiracy here - just by-the-book pension rules.

I'll leave the questions/insinuations about his successor for more knowledgeable people.
