Personally, I find the lack of negotiations as more telling than anything else. Governors elected to office to run a state should anticipate that labor negotiations will probably come-up at some point in a 4-year term.

I find the lack of creativity (on the part of our current state leadership) in the area of problem solving to be - well, somewhat telling.

State runs-out of money? No problem - cut LGA to metro areas, cut transit worker benefits, cut, cut, cut cut... At some point we'll need to look for substance behind the curtain. What IS the plan?
