Interesting.Interesting is not the word I would use for it. Disgusting is a lot closer.
So city council chose to ignore both staff (who favored RecycleAmerica aka Waste Management) AND the community (who overwhelmingly favored Eureka! Recycling).
It would certainly be interesting to hear from council members with some kind of rationale for this decision, but I won't be holding my breath...

People wonder why voters are apathetic, why voters think their votes don't matter, and why many voters view politicians as crooks. This would be an example of why. In a short-sighted, self-serving parochial vote, the best and obvious choice was defeated.
