I now understand there are three usefull purposes for concrete retaining wall blocks. The first is obvious - a retaining wall. The second, my wife and I learned while on vacation last summer, one of the neighborhood kids threw one through our truck window while we were gone.
The last use I learned of this morning when I saw about a dozen of my retaining blocks missing from my front yard. They're being used as counter-weights for the portable basketball hoops on my block.
