Why yes, we do have a few million extra dollars out here, but we are notWM: It's already been stated on this list several times, but once more: the bus company paid for a lot of the refurbishment of Nicollet Mall (turning Nicollet Av. into a mall) with the intention of running buses down and up the mall. We cannot now turn around and de-transit the mall, the money is spent. Or, conversely, if Waconians want the mall to be transit free, they can kick in their millions to reroute all the buses, reprint all the schedules, repost all the signs, etc. to make that happen.
going to give it to you. You have to earn it. Nicollet Mall has great
potential that is not being realized today. If you make Nicollet Mall more
inviting, we who do not live in Minneapolis will visit and spend our
millions of dollars.
Visit other cities and see what they have done. Or youWM: The state has, here of late, treated Minneapolis very badly, even though the city is the engine that drives the economy of the state. That's a fact, not a complaint. That Waconia profits from our work is a blessing for Waconia.
can just sit back and complain about how the State is treating Minneapolis. It's your choice to decide which is more productive.
