Wizard Marks: Val Wurster got promoted. AWRIGHT!!!!!!! She was great in the Third
Precinct, then sommeone--who shall remain nameless--took her downtown for Eternal
Affairs work. She'll be a good Inspector. So will Chris, though they are very
different women. This is so kewl!
Peter Schmitz: So McManus isn't turning out so bad after all. I'm relieved that he's
showing some guts again. After that embarassing fiasco where he evidently made some
terribly imprudent remarks to his subordinates, I was afraid he blew any chances he
had of reforming a department which is badly in need of reform, despite what
apologists for the rank and file may say otherwise (e.g., Council members Gary Schiff,
Robert Lilligren, Barb Johnson and Dan Nizoliek).
