Last Thursday, I sent a post to the list regarding the smoking ban that asked two questions. I have yet to receive any answers to either of them.
The first was wondering if my understanding of the point of view of those promoting the ban was correct. If those who support the ban take issue with my analysis of their perspective, I'd like to hear what mistakes I made: (original post: http://www.mnforum.org/pipermail/mpls/2004-May/032662.html ) The second was regarding if it were possible for a business owner to make their business private as opposed to public/private. This second question has me very curious. Is it possible? How difficult is it? Can any business do it? How free are those businesses to do what they want if they do it? What disadvantages are there to doing it? Personally, I believe that the answers to these questions make a difference. If it is relatively straightforward to make a business a private establishment and that establisment would have the right to determine its own smoking policy, then I may have to withdraw my objections to a smoking ban - it all depends on the details. So, what's the deal? - Jason Goray Sheridan, NE __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo! - Internet access at a great low price. http://promo.yahoo.com/sbc/ REMINDERS: 1.
