I tried to sit on the sidelines during the discussion about my piece but
after someone used the S word I felt compelled to respond. For starters my
piece was an OPINION PIECE not a NEWS STORY learn the difference. Second I
was very close to writing this as a news story but I chose not to because I
just wanted to put the minister on notice as opposed to destroying him.
Third EVERYTHING that appears in my column in the Spokesman has to be proven
before it is published. I was trying to make people aware that there are
people who out there who pray on those during their time of need. The family
has thanked me for what I did and was glad at the way I chose to handle the
situation. Some people on this list keep saying prove this and prove that
which I have no problem with but you have to understand that once I start
publishing the proof peoples lives are going to be destroyed. Some people
on this list wouldnt believe the truth no matter how much proof you had.
For example today at the public hearing for the mayors appointment of the
civil rights director I stated that I had concerns about some comments the
mayor made during a meeting at the Urban League. RT stated that his
appointment would have a long leash so that she could do her job. I stated
that she shouldnt have any leash at all if she was to be able to perform
her job. After the meeting several people called me a lair and said that RT
didnt say that. Well I have it on tape and if anyone wants to see what he
said I would be glad to show it to you. In closing I am vague in my OPINION
pieces on purpose and if you dont like what I write you can read something
else.
