Sharon Henry-Blythe is a fine person who deserves and gets a lot of respect. Having seen and experienced her leadership up close, I can say that with confidence. Not being endorsed in no way takes away from Sharon's character or her great gifts. I for one look forward to seeing her name at the head of great projects and initiatives for many years to come.
WM: I voted, as a delegate at the previous convention for school board and would have done so again, had I been a delegate this round. So saying, I'll add that in my own mind I set the woman an impossible task in this political climate: I wanted SHBlythe to insist on putting more resources into early education. In this city she is one of the few who truly understand good early education's ramifications.
I do think her presence is a way of keeping early education before the board's eyes on a consistent basis.
I like her as a person, too. I like the way she walks in the world.
