I do have multiple subjects to discuss. In consideration of the 2 post
rule and trying to be considerate of members attention, I'll do them
over a period of days: (Watch for Bikes, Carleton Crawford and Mpls
elections, park board stuff,campaigning in Owatona and maybe even
TCMarathon.)

Although I strongly support a Minneapolis ban...(DFLers saw how great
Duluth was this weekend and the crowds seemed to show that few left for
Superior), there is an alternative which was expressed in a bill I
authored (and could not get a hearing on, for those who think a state
wide ban is possible). The link to the bill follows:

I have sent this info mto several city council members. The critical
parts of the bill, still allowing smoking in designated smoking areas,
is a requirement for the smoke to be totally contained in the smoking
area and strong employee protection measures. This approach led to the
total ban of smoking in State buildings but the private sector could
take a shot at doing it.
