At E-Democracy.Org Headquarters we've chatted about using Meetup.com to encourage informal in-person Local Issues Forum discussion opportunities each month. We are specifically interested in bringing people with different perspectives and backgrounds together to discuss _local_ issues.
A Local Issues Meetup would only happen if enough people use Meetup and confirm online that they will attend each time an event is proposed by the system. If it is popular, we might end up with more than one meeting in a city. Does this seem like a good idea? How often do you think you would attend? Feel free to drop your comments to our volunteer team: http://www.e-democracy.org/comments.html Or just reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] directly. If you'd like to help with this exploration or promote participation, let us know as well. Cheers, Steven Clift E-Democracy Board Chair ^ ^ ^ ^ Steven L.
