The poll cited in your article yesterday has been a subject of some fairly vigorous debate on the Minneapolis Issues email list. Most on the list don't buy the results, especially because it was conducted by a pro-ban group. You wrote that "
Nearly three-fourths of Minneapolis residents polled recently said they favor a citywide smoking ban in most indoor public places, according to a survey released Wednesday" But smoking is already banned in most indoor public (and quasi-public) places. Then you state that "
72 percent supported a smoking ban in restaurants and bars." How exactly was the question phrased?
