This is a completely non profit event put together by volunteer organizers. The music represents a geographical cross section of African Music featuring: Innocent, Shalita, SunPlu'gd, Toureg, An Ethiopian Jazz Band, Congolese Soukous and more. All are invited. The Sixth Annual African PEACE Festival will be held on Saturday, June 12th from noon to 7:00pm at Matthews Park, 2318 29th Avenue South in Minneapolis. Admission is Free The theme for this yearâs festival is "Celebrating diversity, working together to feel like one". The daysâ activities consist of a Naturalization Ceremony, live music, food, activities for kids and a Soccer match. People attending are encouraged to wear African clothing and bring a drum. We will be beating drums for peace throughout the day!! Transportation is available for those who need it. Space is limited, so please call PEACE Community Center at 612-339-7418, 24 hours in advance if you will need transportation.
