Any neighborhood gardens out there? I've been trying to give away a small portable greenhouse that I acquired sort of by mistake. Long story. First I called the St. Paul Parks person, but he didn't get back to me for 8 months, so I was crabby and didn't respond. Then I sent a note to Don Samuels in the Jordan neighborhood, because we used to live there and there had been an article in the Strib about some community efforts including gardening. After 5 days my note came back as undeliverable. Heaven only knows what I'd done. But then I got busy and neglected to do anything more about it. Now these posts have reminded me. This "greenhouse" is a set of wire shelves with a plastic zippered tent that goes over the whole thing. When not needed for starting seeds, it's easily taken apart and packed in its box. (Well, the packing is a challenge.) Weighs 20 lbs. Of course, no one would need it this season, but if there's a community gardening effort out there that could store it till they need it again, it's free. Write me offline. Gail O'Hare REMINDERS: 1.
