Now that you have endorsed him, perhaps you could suggest that he offer
something more than a few old clichs ("new vision", "re-energize",
"fresh face")if he is serious about running for the school board. Mr.
Dayhoff appears to be an earnest young man and certainly does not appear
to be as far out in right field as republican school board candidates in
Minneapolis have been in the past 10 years or so.
You might also suggest that he try answering a question from time to
time instead of doing a dandy George W. Bush imitation with a smirk and
a slogan. Endless repetition of a few platitudes is now the Republican
idea of having a message but I suspect that Minneapolis voters will ask
more of candidates for school board.

Log Cabin Republicans of Minnesota Endorse David Dayhoff for Minneapolis
School Board
MINNEAPOLIS- The Minnesota chapter of Log Cabin Republicans decided
unanimously on June 9 to endorse David Dayhoff, a Republican candidate
for
the Minneapolis School Board.
The chapter made the decision after meeting with Mr. Dayhoff in May. Mr.
Dayhoff expressed support for the district's Out for Good Program which
supports Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered students, teachers,
staff
and parents. He also expressed support for comprehensive sexuality
education.
Minnesota Chapter President Eva Young believes Mr. Dayhoff represents a
new
breed of Republican that is willing to tackle urban issues with
tolerance
and compassion. "We are proud to endorse a man like David Dayhoff who
believes in making the learning environment for GLBT children a positive
one and not one filled with intimidation. We are even prouder that this
man
is a Republican who believes in inclusion and diversity and not
discrimination," commented Young.
Mr. Dayhoff believes the current School Board is out of touch with the
community and, if elected, hope to give the Board a new sense of vision.
Mr. Dayhoff will present campaign literature at Twin Cities Pride June
26-27 that will specifically address the concerns of the GLBT
community. The information will be available at the Log Cabin booth.
For more information on Mr. Dayhoff's campaign, please visit his website
at
www.votedayhoff.org.
Log Cabin Republicans is a nationwide grassroots organization working
for
inclusion of GLBT persons in the Party of Lincoln and supporting
gay-friendly candidates for public office.

Saying creationism deserves equal time with the theory of evolution in
the
classroom is like saying I deserve equal time with Pavarotti at the
Sydney
Opera House.
