Brandt: Excuse me? Is this the same Jennings who is a leading voice
complaining that the state has at best one person supervising charter
schools, and advocating for greater charter school accountability? The
same Jennings who complains about the $1 million-plus transportation and
special education subsidies that Minneapolis Public Schools is forced by
law to provide to charters? Who complains that the law requires better
transportation for charter school students in Minneapolis than MPS
students? Is someone mixing him up with Wayne Jennings, who has been
the superintendent of several charter schools?

Jenning's assumed responsibility for a reorganization plan earlier this year
that included the district's sponsorship of more charter schools, and raised
the idea of closing down all of the district run schools and replacing them
with charter schools. The district would play an oversight role, etc.
