I agree.   

But how about increasing that same library's hours for six months and see
what happens?   How about making sure that library has staff that is in
touch with and responsive to the needs of its community (most are
so this is almost a given)  AND funding for books, computers, programs
and services to bring people in?

It's a false manipulation of reality to cut staff, services and hours, and
conclude that they can be cut further because fewer people can use
the library.

Depriving a library of the resources it needs to provide services to it's
users deliberately creates a no win environment that guarantees that
library will fail.

Perhaps the angry ghost who put the kabosh on the old and new
Walker libraries would be appeased if the library moved back into
the original building.   I think there would be plenty of people would
like a good book to read and access to whatever services the former
Pagoda spa offered.  Food for the mind, body and soul.
