If  there is going to be 4600 less students, at 25 students per teacher, 184
less teachers would be  needed.  Maybe Doug Mann has a point.  Maybe the
distict is laying off more teachers than necessary.

Good Point, but the discrepancy may be in the fact that in most schools today, the 
teachers don't have the same 25 kids all day.  Those kids will go through 3 or 4 
teachers.  Teachers don't teach every class hour of the day either.  So the number, 
184, may have to be multiplied by a factor.

Also, I thought it was said that there was an enrollment decline in the last few 
years.  So, some of the layoffs may be coming from declining enrollment catching up to 
where the district just can't afford the staffing levels of the past.

Just thoughts on how the district arrived at the numbers.
