I went for a night out last Friday night in the warehouse district area. I definitely noticed the stepped-up police presence. However, I noticed groups of as many as six police officers standing in one location, in a circle, fraternizing. Now, cops have got to fight boredom and have a little conversation, but wouldn't they be more effective walking around a little more, in pairs, perhaps? Also, I think more cops on horseback can help police visibility, both for the cops to see and be seen.

Also, I noticed a cop taking a dip (spit tobacco) right in front of "block e" on Hennepin. I realize the need to feed the nicotine habit, but perhaps they could be more discreet and not spit on one of Minneapolis's premier streets.
