distribution of $40 million in state aid to local governments. The error
shifted state aid away from poorer communities and give more to richer
cities."

>From David Brauer...."without a special session. He would certify changes
that would bring Mpls $13 million (by far the biggest amount at stake here)
if the cities agree not to sue the state."

>From Vicky.....if Minneapolis receives the lion's share of the money, it
must be the poorest city in Minnesota.  What happened to the "great
financial engine" of the State?  In 2002, Pawlenty, et al gave Minneapolis
over $80 million to pay down part of the Convention Center debt and preserve
the City's bond rating, at least for a while.

All in all, our Governor deserves a big THANK YOU from the compulsive
spenders in Minneapolis.
