>From the Business Journal blurb....."Pawlenty's proposal would fix a problem that arose from a drafting error in the original bill covering the distribution of $40 million in state aid to local governments. The error shifted state aid away from poorer communities and give more to richer cities."
>From David Brauer...."without a special session. He would certify changes that would bring Mpls $13 million (by far the biggest amount at stake here) if the cities agree not to sue the state." >From Vicky.....if Minneapolis receives the lion's share of the money, it must be the poorest city in Minnesota. What happened to the "great financial engine" of the State? In 2002, Pawlenty, et al gave Minneapolis over $80 million to pay down part of the Convention Center debt and preserve the City's bond rating, at least for a while. All in all, our Governor deserves a big THANK YOU from the compulsive spenders in Minneapolis. Vicky Heller North Oaks and Cedar-Riverside REMINDERS: 1. Think a member has violated the rules?
