I looked at the site for City Peace. It had something to the effect of the BOSTON STRATEGY, believe it or not, When I went to the National Gang Training in Dallas Tx, I met the people responsible for putting together the program, and after speaking with them as well and the National Chapter of the Boys and Girls Club from Atl, Both wanted to help aid in the fight against gangs in Minneapolis. In fact those from Boston said they would be willing to come and help Minneapolis set up their own program, to mirror the one in Boston, that got high praise from the White House, and Colen Powell.
So, dumb me brought the info and the names back and gave them to Herron Ward 8, Cherryhomes Ward 5, and Biernet Ward 3...... Would you believe that Boston hung in there for 1year, and still Minneapolis did not call them........Oh the date? this was in 1995.....
WM: I remember the people from Boston were here for meetings with the police department in 1995, so I don't think your info went astray. I do remember a council member saying that Mpls. was ready to adopt the plan, but wanted to leave out the most important part.
