If you have a concern about the equipment worn by
Metro Transit police, why not email the chief of the
transit police? His email:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

This discussion is just plain silly. I saw a Metro
Transit officer on a light rail platform yesterday
wearing a bright greeen "Metro Transit" vest, sidearm,
radio, etc. If that's your "jackbooted thug" (and yes,
I am engaging in a hyberbolic reading a la Andy
Driscoll), then I'm underwhelmed. I have mixed
opinions on the use of "nonlethal" weapons, esp.
Tazers given their untested nature and frequently
lethal results, but I know that MPD sqauds carry them
as well - this is nothing new.

As for the immediate leap to "PROFILING! PROFILING!" -
it's that kind of reasoning from paranoia that makes
legitimate and well-founded concern about profiling
look loony by association. Do us all a favor before
you leap next time and ask questions before you start
making accusations, please?
