Per section 5.5, Paragraph c2 B of the Minneapolis City Charter:
(B) Nonattendance. The Board may remove any commissioner absent from its meetings for 90 days.
I don't recall that this has ever been done. I presume that Park Board members can ask for excused absences when they take vacation, just like any employees.
The more relevant part is in Paragraph c1: "elected by the voters in a regular election". The standard remedy if people feel that a Park Commissioner is not attending enough meetings, or otherwise not doing the work, is to vote them out of office.
