Dear community member:

For the last eight months, the Public Health Advisory Committee of the City of Minneapolis has been working to develop a new process for awarding a portion of the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for 2005-2006. The committee has recommended that the grants focus on prevention, eliminating health disparities, and community engagement. As we begin to develop the Request for Proposal (RFP) for these funds, we need your help in answering the following questions:

What are the greatest needs in your community? How would you prioritize these needs?
What criteria would be most important to you to in deciding which proposals to fund?
If you have applied for grants in the past, what has made it easy for you to apply? What has made it difficult?
Who should review the grant proposals?
How should we measure the effectiveness of activities funded through these grants?


We value your knowledge and insight, and hope that you will be able to participate in one of the following community input meetings:
