Do list members think this strategy will help? Especially in the case of police accountability in serving residents (taxpayers)?
ANNOUNCEMENT: Police encourage the public to get Public Safety information at weekly meetings There is no better way to keep our city safe than to have citizens actively involved in our community and with up-to-date public safety information about their neighborhoods. To encourage this involvement and information-sharing, Minneapolis Police Chief William McManus is making key sources of crime data available to the public. To enable public access to information, beginning Thursday, Aug. 19, all weekly CODEFOR meetings will be open to the public. The meetings are held at noon in City Council Chambers (Room 317, City Hall, 350 S. 5th St.). CODEFOR is based on four principles; accurate and timely intelligence, rapid deployment of personnel and resources, effective tactics, and relentless follow-up and assessment. At CODEFOR meetings, Minneapolis Police Department command staff review weekly crime patterns and data. Strategies are then developed to respond to these problem addresses. Please be aware that portions of meetings may be closed to the general public to allow staff to discuss sensitive investigations or cases involving juveniles.
