As much as I see the value of a citywide wireless network, I don't want the City of Minneapolis crowding out private entities by provisioning this service. Instead, I would like for the City Council to examine whether or not there are legal or regulatory barriers, erected by the City, preventing private entities from providing such a service. Then, if there are such barriers, the City Council ought to remove them.
