Library patron usage and circulation numbers are not reflected in the hours assigned to community libraries. Hosmer had the second highest usage overall (at the time the new hours were announced) of any community library, I think, yet it is only open 4 days a week and at most, only 8 hours in any given day. If you're waiting for rhyme or reason from the library in terms of hours, it could be a long wait.

                                 (have programs) (no programs)

Total circulation Walker 232,409 open 5 days a week 40 hours with Saturdays.. Nokomis 220,852 open 3 days a week 24 hours W/O Saturdays..

In library use Walker 55,834 Nokomis 95,452

East Lake is up in Circulation which I would assume is picking up on Nokomis being
closed. This is just a FYI when money and hours are passed out for libraries.

The rich can afford an education for their children, wherever. Most of the populace, depends on /pays taxes for.... public schools and libraries to educate their children so they can have opportunities also. Financial accountability/responsibility is one thing..but to gut both institutions to save a buck for some taxpayers is another.
