On the basis of such a plan CM's Lisa McDonald and Jim Niland once were able

WM: Despicable. And did those business people get the fair price for their land and buildings? Or did they get the 'eminent domain' price, a considerably smaller amount?

Much of this problem may go away if the U. S. Attorney gets a Rico
conviction handed down from a Federal Court.

WM: RICO stands for Racketeering Influence and Corrupt Organizations and is designed to follow the money. I don't think Sabri was charged under RICO, but for attempting to bribe an elected official as a solo act.

Did I read Wizard
correctly, was she suggesting that the Feds use of tax law might be helpful
in this case?

WM: No, you certainly did not read it right. I'm not suggesting anything of the sort. I'm saying (again) that it was naive to believe anything seen on TV, heard on radio, or read in the papers vis-a-vis Sabri because the source of the information, the FBI, was attempting to manipulate the public in order to try an inferior case in the media. Also, the feds were very willing to embroider so-called data in order to do that. They were also very willing to create little plays where only one of the two actors had a script. It was all theater, the goal of which, I think, was to create a criminal where someone in the federal government (perhaps persuaded to action by someone's) else) decided he/she needed a criminal. Sui bono?

I'm also saying that some members of this list have a lot invested in dislike of Sabri for both his big mouth and his bullying. Some of those most interested in promoting that notion have nothing to say about how they, too, have bullied and over-ridden others, though some were not quite so loud about it. For example, one disaffected member of the 35W PAC vowed vengeance against those who voted in favor of the design and is presently working hard and with malice aforethought to make sure his/her vengeance gets played out. Central neighborhood has been bullied for years (and still is) by some residents who are set on gentrification of the decades old blue collar/pink collar flavor of the neighborhood. Phillips, too, has had its share of bullies, as do other neighborhoods. The only difference between them and Sabri is that Sabri is a foreigner to these shores and Sabri has amassed lots of the long green.

For all I know Sabri could be as crooked as a well digger's fanny. However, to date what y'all are nattering about is the fact that the City of Mpls.' current leadership, and some of its previous leadership, have realized that they spawned a monster with NRP, and they are bent on taking power away from neighborhoods. This is not a new phenomenon, but Sabri could be the straw man here, destined to burn. Sui bono?

Too, in the heat of the events which "highlighted" Sabri, no one mentioned that, for reasons unknown, Selwin Ortega was thoroughly honked at Sabri. From subsequent events I would posit that Sabri was trying to buy Ortega out and was nagging him about complying with the numerous inspection tags Ortega was facing. I know Sabri was relentless in nagging Ortega about repairing his building on the NW corner of 4th and Lake. Sui bono?

You may be missing the forest for the trees, spending all your time looking at Sabri.
