i am writing in support of the mayors action as concerns Karmel development. This is a project bigger than one individual.Sabri properties and the owner have been instrumental on the development of somali businesses in minneapolis.ther is no disputing that fact.secondly have we forgotten how lake streets crimes were before all this developments started.it was not too long ago that people associated that part of town with crime and drug dealing, there was no developer wanting to touch it,now that we have put time and effort it has become valuable realestate. This is about people lives and livelihoods.we want to live near our businesses to be able to be eyes on the street.a lot of people are confusing the issues for their own benefit, the issue is clear. We want that development to go on and developed by sabri period. It requires special financing to comply with islamic law and we have achieved that.we have tried to explain this to whittier alliance and they just wont care to investigate.During our meeting there recentlywe overwhelmingly voted for the project 70-4,isnt that democracy?i am proud of mayor Rybak as he looked at the facts and saw the need to support a revisit of this issue.Alot of us in the community have invested our hopes into this project and the oppostion facsinates us why cant we live in whittier?
