Sabri's tactics haven't changed much since his days (1)embezzeling money from the foreign student organization at the University of Minnesota. (2)...as well as vandalism against peoples' property. The car vandalizing thing happened to his neighbor in the suburbs, Jana Metge, Judy Cooper Lyle, several Whittier residents, several Central residents, and Omar Jamal. (4) This was the deal when he had tennants from his building in Whittier vote in the Central elections, this was the deal with the Latino Artist Group ....WM: Unless he has been adjudicated, your accusations on this list are actionable. About number 4 (the numbers are my addition to your post): Jana Metge and the Central residents live in high vandalism areas, so attributing vandalism to any one person is pretty tricky. My car was vandalized with a Chicago punch during that period. I couldn't attribute it to Sabri, but I might have if I was determined to paint Sabri as black as possible--after the fact.
WM: This is why you might reconsider making public statements about unadjudicated issues. If you don't have a paper trail in the court system already that proves any of these items, you're screwing yourself. Then, if Sabri is all the things you claim, he'll be laughing all the way to the bank. He's the type of guy who keeps his lawyers on speed dial, notice I said lawyers, for, yea verily, there are several.Then he starts suing people.
WM: Actually, this characterization is too narrow. Sabri likes to brag, period. Only in Minnesota is that absolutely against the rules. If you had grown up as he and his brothers and sister (s) grew up, it would probably seem a miracle to have achieved so much, regardless of how you did it. If you were a Miles Glorioso, as Sabri is, you would brag about it too.The other thing Sabri likes to do is brag about being a private developer who doesn't take government money - but he's take hundreds of thousands in subsidies, even before the Elroy site!
It's also debatable whether what he does actually qualifies as development. I don't think it's a coincidence that Sabri uses the same lawyer (Randy Tigue) as Ferris Alexander.WM: This is ad hominem circumstantial and it's a Corky no-no. (I stood 10-12 feet from Joe Bonano one day, does that mean I'm a member of the mob?
WM: I don't like saying it since I do so admire SSB and think she did a better job of being mayor than many a one and since I also like her as a person, but SSB embarrassed herself in her campaign.Look what happened to Sharon Sayles Belton, Sabri embarassed her in the campaign;
is Rybak's support now some sort of payback? Check the campaign contribution records - I bet I know what you'll find!WM: No, you check the records, find out if you have an argument to make. Were I in Rybak's place, I'd be pretty disappointed and mad as a hatter about it, too.
One of the things about Sabri's behavior that usually gets my knickers in a twist is his insistence on treating us as though we were the Israelis, and he the lone Palestinian. Now that's over the top.
