I have always hoped that individuals that seek election to public office first and foremost, understand the sacred nature of the trust being given them by those that cast the ballots (us) in any election. In fact, I would hope that this would be something that would have inspired them to run for public office in the first place.
Yes, I fully understand that at times, my elected officials (even the ones I vote for) will vote in a manner that I don't agree with on specific issues. They may even god forbid, live a lifestyle that I don't approve of. However, I have always expected that my elected officials will understand the sacred nature of the trust which is placed in them, when they are elected to office.
In my opinion, the activity of Rep. Kahn is as much an issue of "trust" as it is an issue of "law". And sometimes, even in long-standing relationships, once "trust" is broken, it's VERY hard to get back.
