Normally Park Board meetings start at 5:00pm and are now broadcast live on cable in Minneapolis from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on cable channels 14 and 79.
However, today's meeting has a special change: the meeting will start at 4:45pm (15 minutes earlier than usual) to review the contract with attorney Brian Rice for legal and lobbying services. The Park Board pays Brian Rice over $400,000 per year for his services, and he is the largest campaign contributor to the majority of the commissioners. If you think this relationship deserves more scrutiny, it would be worth showing up for the meeting at 4:45pm.
Park Board meetings are held at the Park Board's HQ or administrative building, located at 2117 West River Road, just north of the intersection with Broadway. There is plenty of parking right in front of the building, and the meeting is held upstairs in the board room which is large enough to accommodate a couple hundred people.
