Has anyone clear historical evidence of a lawn sign swaying
another persons political judgment? Perhaps a bumper sticker?
Personally, I need at least a T shirt to express my full philosophy
(both sides, and thank heavens or beer, I'm now wearing a large).

P.S. In 1964 my friend and I purchased 30'" machetes at the
army surplus shop for a couple of bucks and proceeded to fill our nights with
whacking Goldwater signs down to their roots (not an easy business in S. E.
Mpls., you had to seek them out). My friends dad was an old time union organizer
out of the "30's strikes etc. and of course a solid DFL man. My idiot buddy,
"Little Gerry" bragged to him about what we had done one night and the man
grabbed both of us fifteen year olds, one in each hand, picked us up and pinned us
to the wall. "Don't dare give us that kind of name" was the essential
message. Easy to understand when you fear for your immediate exsitance. Not oddly,
I've stuck to Big Gerry's advice all the rest of my life.
" I got off the hook but Little Gerry didn't. He had to to go door to
door as best he could and make apologies.I wish Big Gerry had made me do it too.
Gotta live together
folks, that's what a city is.
