Peter Schmitz writes: If people on this list feel that a DFL State Representative lifting campaign literature belonging to the Republican party is not a serious matter, then what's the big deal about lifting lawn signs?
Bill Kahn responds: It is a simple difference. Lawn signs are a step up in value and a voluntary expression of free speech from the resident. Campaign literature is mostly litter and questionable rhetoric. Given the previous responses, I'll hold the waste analogy; but that's how I view the stuff on my porch, whatever it says. My beat up Wellstone! sign from the 2002 election speaks volumes about some previous posts blaming Democrats for such manuevers. Reminds me of the time I held a sign at Hwy. 36 and McKnight in N. St. Paul and was informed that Walter Mondale was the Anti-Christ. Who knew? Bill Kahn Prospect Park REMINDERS: 1. Think a member has violated the rules?
