I used to travel Hiwatha daily, but no longer can handle the traffic, the
lights, and the waits. Now I take Cedar Ave or Minnehaha Ave to 26th going
to work and 17th coming home due to traffic. It also makes me feel sad to
see the rail go whizzing by and I am sitting in traffic.. but can not chance
bus waits. I believe the road is safer, but the overall picture has not
gelled into a smooth good working situation as it could/should be. According
to our CM Colvin Roy, work is being done to get the lights more in sync.
Glad rail is here and waiting for it to be extended, be it lrt or personal
rapid transit as Steve mentioned. I believe PRT has more merit in
city....PRT could work along Lake St., Hennepin and University very nicely.
There are a lot of websites for PRT, but one that is animated easy reading
is www.personalrapidtransit.com
