Excerpted from another listserv I subscribe to: "Today the Minneapolis City Council passed a resolution urging the State of Minnesota to add ranked and cumulative ballot processing capability as a certification requirement for new voting equipment.
The vote was 10-3, with Council Members Johnson, Colvin Roy, and Ostrow voting no." The full text of the resolution can be found here: http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/council/2004-meetings/20041022/Docs/IRV-Voti ng-Equipment-Resl.pdf [Note: since this link is probably gonna break, you should probably copy and paste it into your web browser] My thoughts on the resolution passing: Yay! My thoughts on my CM voting to oppose it: BOO!
