Miller did not "drop off the school board." She didn't seek reelection to the 
school board. And her husband's need of a kidney transplant didn't stop 
Sandra Miller from trying to transplant herself into the 8th ward city council seat 
in 2001. Miller placed third in the primary. The top 2 got a spot on the 
ballot in the general election.
