I got a recorded voice message yesterday from "the union." It had to be phony. Every time I've gotten a call from a union previously, that person said "I'm from Local #__ of the ________ Union." This one started nattering on about Bush, so I just hung up. During the next two days I think we can expect calls completely out in the ozone about any and every candidate, particularly the federal candidates. Patty Wetterling's opponent comes to mind as one possible phone phreaque.

Don't worry, Jim - I'm certain the DFL will be shipping enough people into your precinct to more than make up for a few misdirected voters. Unfortunately, they'll only be voting DFL - regardless of who the candidate is.

I got a recorded voice message from the DFL party encouraging me to vote on Tuesday. Specifically it asked me to vote for Dianne Loeffler and where my polling place was.
There's a problem. Dianne Loeffler is running for the House seat in 59A (and fine person though she may be, I'd vote for Tom Taylor). The problem, though, is that I live in 59B and can't vote for either of those candidates. And I wouldn've be able to vote for either of them even if I did go to the polling place the DFL told me I was supposed to go to.
I don't know how far off the DFL is in this system, but if they're telling a lot of people the wrong place to vote there could be a problem on Tuesday.
