I've been a patron at several establishments in minneapolis where
music is played, both live and prerecorded, after midnight on a
nightly basis.
There is music in MPLS after midnight.
Music on the sidewalk may be another thing where the law is concerned.
If I were in your shoes,I would go to the library and look up the city
ordinance relevant to your activity, print a copy, keep it with you,
and have a lawyer's phone # in your wallet.
