PEACE Foundation Web Log Logged by Don Samuels, Thanksgiving Week Never underestimate the power of kindness in a moment of great need. The giver might forget and move on, but the recipient is left with a lifelong memory of gratitude and transformed view of the human community.
Here is an example of how the kindness shown by individuals who gathered on James Ave several weeks ago impacted one neighbor: Thanks so much for last nights positive event! I live very close to the troubled area we gathered at last night. It lifts my spirit to see that desolate block filled with warmth, laughter, and good energy. It seems as though every time I am down and feeling hopeless the PEACE foundation members step in with their energy and goodwill to reinvigorate the neighborhood with hope. I know I am not the only one who feels this way! I look forward to accompanying everyone to other locations on the Northside and Southside and giving neighbors a conduit for hope, not despair. Sincerely, Kelly Phillips Jordan Neighborhood Forwarded for PEACE Partners by dorie gallagher/nokomis REMINDERS: 1. Think a member has violated the rules?
