Not to be picking nits out of our dinners, but these are in northeast
Minneapolis, not north Minneapolis! Now, there's a good new North Minneapolis
restaurant called Coconut Grove at 36th and Penn--Trinidad-style cooking, great

hosts, friendly atmosphere and beer and wine. Or, for lunch or breakfast, Bean
Scene Coffee is doing amazing things at Penn & Broadway.

Having worked in the local restaurant scene, I know that just because a
restaurant gets supplies from Sysco or other large suppliers doesn't mean the
food comes from that supplier. A restaurant I worked for regularly got stuff
off
Sysco trucks--napkins, aprons, take-out containers, and so on--but the food
came from other suppliers and was prepared from scratch in the kitchen.

Well, there is--in the same sense that there is invisible discrimination
against folks who want Ukranian food. Sure, there's Krasmarczuk's, but what
about the rest of the city?

There are places that do cater to vegetarians, but if you want more places,
you need to convince more of the rest of us to eat only vegetarian. Myself,
I'm craving some fried pig muscle right now.....mmmmmmm, bacon!
