Hi:

Maybe I was off base before when I said that Gina
Palandri was "relentlessly negative." Well, now I'm
pretty sure that I'm on more solid ground. To wit:

1) Cap's discriminates against vegetarians.
2) Sushi places like Midori's make fishy tasting food.

3) I had a sandwich at Manny's once that they didn't
serve me and remade at their expense without me having
to complain about it, but I lost my appetite.
4) The food at El Norteno is good, but I had to wait 3
(hmmm) hours for dinner once.
5) The hours at Birchwood change sometimes.
6) Don't even get me started about Luce.

Look, it's not like I don't think that there could be
some improvements in this part of the city about food,
but there's so much good stuff going on that I think
it's pretty unfair to act like you live in some
wasteland of cuisine. Try living in Keokuk, Iowa or
Quincy, Illinois or Carbondale, Illinois or St. Cloud
and get back to me on how terrible things are in terms
of food in Longfellow.

Has anybody eaten at Moti Mahal on 31st and Franklin
yet? It's great to have an Indian restaurant in the
neighborhood, anybody have an informal review?
