Several down-south races have drawn large fields. In a little more than six weeks, the DFL will begin its endorsement process. I'd love to hear some arguments for or against the various candidates. (I'd also love the candidates to introduce themselves and talk about their most important issues.)
Opinions? I've got some. If I were filling in an Instant Run Off Voting ballot for these folks, it might look like this:
8th Ward: 1. Dennis Tifft -- the clean, open government candidate. 2. Jeffrey Hayden -- not a bad choice. 3. Titi Bediako -- pretty much unknown.
Never in a million years: Marie Hauser, ineffectual, goes along to get along, wrong side of the street on most Park Board decisions, supercilious.
10th Ward: 1. Allan Bernard -- experienced and good priorities. 2. Gay Noble -- also experienced and good priorities.
NO: Scott Persons -- supports the 35W Excess Project.
13th Ward (hard to make a bad choice here among the four running close): 1. Lisa McDonald 2. Jim Bernstein 3. Betsy Hodges 4. Mike Hohmann
Don't know: Mark Lindberg Don't know: Jack Newton
Chris Johnson Fulton
